What is "Recommend BARMER" and what benefits do I have?

"Recommend BARMER" is the BARMER health insurance incentive programme. You collect valuable points for every new member you recommend and can redeem these in our rewards shop.

Who can participate in the program?

Anyone who recommends a new customer for BARMER health insurance can take part in the programme.

How can I participate in "Recommend BARMER"?

Participation in the programme is very easy via the website https://www.barmer-empfehlen.de/en

Why do I have to register again?

The programme has been technically revised, which is why BARMER was unable to transfer the old data. The changes affect all registrations before 10.06.24.


Where do I find the overview of my account?

Under ‘My Account’ you will find all relevant information about your account, such as your profile data, points balance, overview of rewards orders, etc.

How can I change the details in my account?

You can change or add your delivery address at any time during the order process. If you would like to change your master data, please contact empfehlen@barmer.de.

Where can I find my points balance?

You can find your current points balance under ‘My Account’.

How can I cancel my participation in the program?

In the ‘My Account’ section, you will find an option to unsubscribe from the programme. However, as we would be very sorry to lose you as a participant, please send us a short message about how we can improve the programme for you. You can find the relevant form here empfehlen@barmer.de.

Collect points

When can I start collecting points?

Points can be collected immediately after you have recommended a new customer for BARMER health insurance.

How can I start collecting points?

You collect points for every recommendation of a new BARMER health insurance member. The points are automatically credited to your account once the recommended customer has concluded a membership contract.

I have compared the points credited with those stated on the website and they do not match.

Can I pass points on to someone else?

It is currently not possible to pass on points.

Can my points expire?

Points expire every 2 years

Redeem points

Where can I redeem my collected points?

Points can be redeemed for attractive rewards in a variety of categories in the ‘Redeem points’ section. To do this, place your desired reward in the shopping basket and complete the order process. Several rewards can be ordered at the same time per order process, provided your points are sufficient.

My points are not enough for my desired reward. Can I make an additional payment?

An additional payment is possible via the payment service provider PayPal directly or by direct debit and credit card, which is also processed via PayPal. Registration with PayPal is not required for direct debit or credit card payments.

A debit card is a bank card or Sparkassenkarte.

Where can the rewards be delivered?

Delivery is possible to any valid address in your country.

Are there any shipping costs for my order?

No, there are no shipping costs.

Which logistics company is used to send the rewards?

Rewards can be dispatched via various shipping service providers, such as DHL, DPD, GLS, etc. Larger products can also be shipped via a shipping company.

How do I find out the delivery status of my reward?

The normal delivery time for your reward order can take up to 10 working days. In exceptional cases, the delivery time may take up to 14 working days. When your reward is dispatched, you will receive a notification to your e-mail address. In the e-mail you also have the option of checking the dispatch status via the tracking link. Please note: The ordered reward will be delivered from our warehouse to the specified delivery address. Any information about a delivery period is non-binding, unless a delivery date is expressly declared to be binding in exceptional cases.

Do I have to pay tax on my redeemed rewards?

Yes, you have to pay tax on the rewards.

Returns & Claims

Can I cancel an order?

In principle, you can cancel your reward order within the statutory periods.
If the reward has already been dispatched, you have the option of returning the reward to us upon receipt. Details on this right of cancellation can be found in the GTC.

I don't like a reward, can I return it?

If the reward has already been sent, you can return it free of charge within the statutory deadlines. To do so, please contact our service staff using the contact form.
Please pack the items you wish to return in a suitable box together with the accessories and any extras. To avoid damage, we recommend using the original packaging. Please note that goods returned because they are not to your liking must be in a resalable condition in order for you to receive a corresponding points credit.

My reward is defective, what can I do?

If your reward does not work, please first check the operating instructions for possible troubleshooting tips.
Alternatively, you can also return a defective reward to us within the warranty period. To do this, please contact our service staff using the contact form.
Some manufacturers also offer an additional guarantee for certain items.
Please note that this is a service provided by the respective manufacturer and any claims must be registered directly with them. The additional guarantee does not limit the statutory warranty.

What warranty does the rewards shop offer?

The statutory warranty rights apply to all rewards from the rewards shop.

What guarantee is there on products?

In addition to the statutory warranty rights, some manufacturers grant you an additional guarantee for certain items. Please note that this is a service provided by the respective manufacturer and any claims must be registered directly with them.
The additional guarantee does not limit the statutory warranty.

How can I submit a complaint?

If your reward does not work or is defective, please contact our service staff using the contact form.
In the event of a complaint about non-receipt of your reward, please note our delivery times of a maximum of 7 working days. Please wait for this period after receiving the dispatch confirmation before contacting us with your complaint about a missing delivery.
If you find a tracking link for parcel tracking in your dispatch confirmation, you can find out about the whereabouts of your parcel directly via the link.
